Yann Danis, the ECAC Player of the Year and a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, became the first prominent college player to sign with an NHL team this spring. The Montreal Canadiens signed the 22-year old Quebec native to a two-year deal, with terms not disclosed.<\/p>\n
Danis was 15-11-4 with a 1.81 goals-against average and .942 save percentage in 30 games for Brown this season. He was also named the league’s top goalie — the Ken Dryden Award. The award’s namesake won six Stanley Cups for the Canadiens after graduating from Cornell in 1969.<\/p>\n
Danis was 43-43-12 with 13 shutouts, a 2.20 GAA and .930 save percentage in four seasons at Brown.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
