Kurtis McLean of Norwich University, the first four-time First Team All-American in NCAA Division III history, has been chosen the winner of the 2005 Sid Watson Award, presented to the Division III Player of the Year by the nation’s Division III head coaches. The 5-11, 175 pound native of Kirkland Lake, Ontario, has recorded 29 goals and 26 assists for 55 points in the team’s 26 games this season. He finished his starry carrer with totals of 118-94-212 in 114 games.<\/p>\n
“Kurtis is a great citizen on and off the ice,” says Norwich head coach Mike McShane. “He is well respected by the fans, faculty, fellow students and administration. A ‘winner’ in every category, [Kurtis] is an honor student with a 3.0 G.P.A. He will be missed by all of us in the Norwich hockey family.”<\/p>\n
