Skidmore is searching for a new head coach as a result.<\/p>\n<p>Dion had a career record of 207-267-23 in his 22 seasons and his last two seasons may have been his most difficult ones.  Skidmore had decided to <a href='\/news\/2003\/09\/17_006875.php'>drop its hockey program<\/a> after the 2003-04 season, but with a movement and the raising of funds, the school decided to reinstate the program.<\/p>\n<p>Last season Dion was faced with some of his players being suspended for <a href='\/news\/2004\/11\/01_008974.php'>&#8220;hazing&#8221;<\/a> back in November.  <\/p>\n<p>Dion guided Skidmore from club status to varsity and was named the 2003 ECAC East Coach of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>Skidmore has posted the position on its website and looks to hire a new coach by Sept. 1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Skidmore is looking for a new head coach for men&#8217;s hockey, joining a lot of other teams at the Division III level who are or were looking for new coaches.
