He had already been suspended by the team.<\/p>\n<p>Atkinson, 20, a native of Kinderhook, N.Y., was taken to a local hospital by police after crashing a car into a building at 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 2.  Atkinson&#8217;s blood alcohol content at the time of the accident was 0.212, over twice the legal limit in Vermont for drivers of drinking age.<\/p>\n<p>He was suspended indefinitely at that time for a violation of the student-athlete code of conduct. <\/p>\n<p>Atkinson, who is expected to be arraigned this week, decided recently to leave school in the wake of the incident, according to Vermont school officials.
