Lawrence head coach Dave Ruhly will not be offered a new contract after his current contract expires in June at the end of the 2005-06 academic year. <\/p>\n
The announcement was made today by Lawrence athletics director Robert Beeman. <\/p>\n
A 1998 graduate of Providence College, Ruhly served as Lawrence’s head coach for seven seasons. Ruhly was the first full-time head coach at Lawrence when he was hired in 1999, and the eighth head coach overall. Hockey has been a varsity sport at Lawrence since 1986. <\/p>\n
Ruhly’s team put together a record of 9-14-4 in 2005-06, and the Vikings finished in fourth place in the MCHA with a 7-9-4 record. <\/p>\n
In Ruhly’s seven seasons, the Madison, Wis., native compiled a record of 50-119-9. His best season was 2004-05, when Lawrence finished 11-13-2 and took second place in the MCHA. <\/p>\n
