The Leopards lost the schools all-time winningest goalie, Justin Marriot, to graduation. Also gone is Jeff Olitch (21-21), but Wentworth returns a cache of talent led by Skylur Jameson (18-25), the ECAC Northeast Player of the Year.<\/p>\n
Shaun Jameson returns on the blue line after a freshman season that saw him earn First Team All-ECAC Northeast honors, along with a spot on the All-Rookie team. Sophomore Michael Jarboe played well in a complementary role last year, posting a 2.32 goals-against-average and a .917 save percentage in 10 games.<\/p>\n
Junior Casey Shade (8-19) and sophomore Anthony Principato (14-11) provide returning firepower up front.<\/p>\n
“We’re returning\u00a013 great kids that have had some success and are excited for a new season,” coach R.J.Tolan said. “We have a tremendous work ethic this year in our older kids and we’re hoping the freshman can contribute and provide energy and enthusiasm.”<\/p>\n
Despite edging out Curry for the regular season championship on the final Sunday of the season, Wentworth was bounced from the playoffs by upstart Johnson & Wales in the semifinals.<\/p>\n
“[If] we consistently work hard every day, we will have a chance at long term success,” Tolan said. “We just want to have fun and play with energy every night. Last year was very competitive; we expect to have to earn every win this season.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
