{"id":38430,"date":"2011-10-04T15:45:15","date_gmt":"2011-10-04T20:45:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/?p=38430"},"modified":"2011-10-04T15:45:15","modified_gmt":"2011-10-04T20:45:15","slug":"marsh-to-take-indefinite-medical-leave-from-st-lawrence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uscho.com\/2011\/10\/04\/marsh-to-take-indefinite-medical-leave-from-st-lawrence\/","title":{"rendered":"Marsh to take indefinite medical leave from St. Lawrence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>St. Lawrence head coach Joe Marsh will not start the season behind the bench and would not say when he may return after he told the <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.watertowndailytimes.com\/article\/20111003\/SPORTS03\/710039969\/-1\/sports\">Watertown Daily Times<\/a><\/em> this week that he&#8217;s planning an indefinite medical leave.<\/p>\n<p>Marsh has battled a chronic arthritic condition the past several years and has missed games and practices.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What I&#8217;m looking to avoid is a continuance of how last year went &#8212; was I in or was I out?,&#8221; Marsh said in the Times. &#8220;Who knows? Maybe I&#8217;ll come back soon, maybe I&#8217;m not coaching again, I don&#8217;t know. Whatever happens, I want it to be my decision and do it the right way and leave it the right way. I&#8217;ve done this for half my life, so obviously, what&#8217;s left is pretty important to me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>New associate head coach Mike Hurlbut and assistant Greg Carvel will handle the coaching duties and former Saints&#8217; player Jared Keller may be brought in to assist with recruiting.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I want the emphasis on them and what we have here,&#8221; Marsh added. &#8220;Not the fact that I&#8217;m sitting around on the shelf. I don&#8217;t want to mess it up by mistake by being half-in, half-out.
