MIAC

Augsburg is hoping to win a third consecutive conference tournament championship when it hits the ice Saturday for the MIAC tournament crown. Gustavus Adolphus is looking for its first title since 2012 in this showdown on the road.

Both teams are here after impressive road wins in the semifinal round, the Auggies topping Saint John’s, 4-3, and the Gusties stunning St. Thomas, 4-3, in overtime.

This meeting marks the 131st time the two teams have squared off, and the two split their regular-season series. They also played in the MIAC showcase, a game Augsburg prevailed in. Two of the three games were decided by a goal.

The Auggies are ranked 15th in the nation and have one of the best offenses in the country, averaging nearly four goals per game. Chandler Mabry leads the team with 26 points, with 20 coming off assists, and Nate Flynn and Luke Dietsch have tallied 25 points apiece. Flynn has scored 12 goals.

The Gusties are at their best when they score multiple goals, owning a 9-0 record when scoring at least four goals in a game. Eight players have at least 10 points. Colin Hernon leads the way with eight goals and nine assists.

The MIAC is always crazy and unpredictable, and don’t expect that to change Saturday, as this game should be a battle to the finish. Augsburg 4-3.

NCHA

Adrian is ranked No. 1 in the nation. St. Norbert is No. 2.

Just looking at that, you might think this game is for the national championship, but only the Harris Cup will be on the line Saturday when these two teams square off in what could be an NCHA showdown for the ages.

The Bulldogs have won 16 in a row. The Green Knights have rattled off eight consecutive wins. Something has to give.

Taylor McCloy is in the midst of an impressive season. He has scored 23 goals, while Cory Dunn leads all blueliners in NCAA Division III with 27 assists. Goalie Kevin Entmaa owns a 1.74 goals-against average, and he has won 16 games, the most wins in school history for a netminder.

St. Norbert is the reigning Harris Cup champion and has been paced by Tanner Froese, who has scored 11 goals to go along with 17 assists. Keegan Milligan, only a freshman, has tallied 11 goals as well to go along with 13 assists. Like Adrian, St. Norbert has a phenomenal goalie in T.J. Black, who has a 1.38 GAA and leads the country in wins with 23.

Adrian is at home where, it’s 14-0, and that is huge. Adrian 5-4 (OT)

WIAC

Wisconsin-Stevens Point is playing for the Commissioner’s Cup for the fourth consecutive season, and they have won the last two titles. The third-ranked Pointers are 2-1 in title games.

The Blugolds are in the title game for the third time in program history.

Tanner Karty leads Wis.-Stevens Point with 22 goals and 25 assists. Wilem Nong-Lambert ranks second on the team in scoring with 11 goals and 22 assists. The Pointers have scored a total of 102 goals off 168 assists and have given up just 51 goals.

Wis.-Eau Claire is led by Colton Wolter, who has eight goals and 16 assists. Jake Bresser and Luke Kohls are tied for second on the team in points with 16. Mac Jansen ranks second in goals scored with 10. The Blugolds have 92 goals in all and have given up 63.

The last time these two teams met, they tied 4-4. This one will be close, too. Wis.-Stevens Point 4-3
