{"id":41862,"date":"2012-02-15T19:32:42","date_gmt":"2012-02-16T01:32:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/?p=41862"},"modified":"2012-02-17T21:39:43","modified_gmt":"2012-02-18T03:39:43","slug":"manuel-named-new-ad-at-connecticut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uscho.com\/2012\/02\/15\/manuel-named-new-ad-at-connecticut\/","title":{"rendered":"Manuel named new AD at Connecticut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Warde Manuel, who has had a distinguished career in intercollegiate athletics that ranges from being a student-athlete to a director of athletics, has been named the new director of athletics at Connecticut.<\/p>\n<p>Manuel, a 1990 Michigan graduate where he played both football and track and field, was most recently the director of athletics at the University of Buffalo for the past six years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are incredibly proud and thrilled that Warde will be joining the Husky family,&#8221; said UConn president Susan Herbst in a statement. &#8220;UConn is one of the great American universities and our athletics program is the envy of many. It&#8217;s because of this that we were able to attract an amazing pool of candidates from across the nation &#8211; and an ideal, stand-out candidate of Warde&#8217;s exceptionally-high caliber. He will play the integral, and even transformational, role in the future of UConn athletics.
