For his efforts in leading St. Lawrence to the 2012 ECAC tournament championship and a berth in the NCAA quarterfinals, Chris Wells has been named the AHCA women’s Division I coach of the year.<\/p>\n
The Saints compiled a record of 24-10-4 this year, including a 18-2-1 streak from Dec. 2, 2011-March 3, 2012, culminating in beating Cornell in the ECAC tournament final.<\/p>\n
Through four seasons as the Saints’ head coach, Wells. who also played at SLU from 1988-1992, has compiled a record of 80-53-16.<\/p>\n
