St. Michael’s announced Monday that Adam Berger has been hired as the team’s new assistant coach. <\/p>\n
A May graduate of Drake (Iowa) University, Berger served as the hockey operations intern with the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League the past four years.<\/p>\n
“I am very excited and honored to be a part of such a storied program,” said Berger in a statement. “I am looking forward to an amazing experience behind the bench where I will learn a lot from [St. Michael’s head coach] Damian [DiGiulian]. I feel my experiences over the past four years will allow me to help make our players better every day through on- and off-ice coaching.”<\/p>\n
“We are thrilled to have Adam as a member of the St. Michael’s hockey family,” added DiGiulian. “I have known Adam and his family for many years and he is the kind of individual we want in our program. He will bring class, character and a work ethic second to none as we continue to work toward our commitment in helping St. Mike’s men’s ice hockey excel both on and off the ice.”<\/p>\n
This past summer, Berger served as a youth development coach at various summer camps through Northern Edge Hockey and was the head coach of a U-14 squad in the Des Moines Youth Hockey Association during the 2011-12 school year after coaching U-16 players in 2010 for the Atlanta Knights.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
