{"id":45483,"date":"2012-10-08T10:56:10","date_gmt":"2012-10-08T15:56:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/?p=45483"},"modified":"2012-10-08T10:56:10","modified_gmt":"2012-10-08T15:56:10","slug":"bowling-green-inks-bergeron-to-two-year-contract-extension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uscho.com\/2012\/10\/08\/bowling-green-inks-bergeron-to-two-year-contract-extension\/","title":{"rendered":"Bowling Green inks Bergeron to two-year contract extension"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bowling Green announced Monday that head coach Chris Bergeron has signed a two-year contract extension through the 2017-18 season.<\/p>\n<p>Named BGSU&#8217;s seventh head coach on April 12, 2010, Bergeron led Bowling Green to two CCHA tournament upsets on the road last year, defeating Northern Michigan and national runner-up Ferris State in best two-out-of-three series to become the first No. 11 seed to ever reach the CCHA semifinals. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Chris has Bowling Green hockey headed in the right direction,&#8221; said Bowling Green athletics director Greg Christopher in a news release. &#8220;There is still plenty of work to be done, but watching the strides our team has made off the ice, coupled with the on-ice improvement, it is clear we are building a championship culture.
