{"id":56422,"date":"2014-02-18T13:31:54","date_gmt":"2014-02-18T19:31:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/?p=56422"},"modified":"2014-02-18T13:31:54","modified_gmt":"2014-02-18T19:31:54","slug":"nchc-suspends-colorado-colleges-hansen-additional-game-for-stick-swinging-penalty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uscho.com\/2014\/02\/18\/nchc-suspends-colorado-colleges-hansen-additional-game-for-stick-swinging-penalty\/","title":{"rendered":"NCHC suspends Colorado College&#8217;s Hansen additional game for stick-swinging penalty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The NCHC has issued a one-game suspension to Colorado College freshman forward Matt Hansen.<\/p>\n<p>The suspension is in addition to the automatic one-game suspension for a game disqualification penalty he received at the end of the Tigers&#8217; game against Western Michigan on Feb. 15.<\/p>\n<p>Hansen was assessed the extra game after a review of the play in which Hansen swung his stick and made contact to the head and neck area of Western Michigan player Thomas Nitsche. Hansen was assessed a five-minute high-sticking major and a game disqualification penalty, while Nitsche was given a two-minute minor for roughing and a five-minute cross checking major. <\/p>\n<p>All penalties occurred at the 20-minute mark of the third period. <\/p>\n<p>Hansen will serve the two-game suspension during Colorado College&#8217;s next series against Denver from Feb. 21-22 and is eligible to return for the Tigers&#8217; game at Nebraska-Omaha on Feb. 28.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The NCHC has issued a one-game suspension to Colorado College freshman forward Matt Hansen.
