The action was taken by the conference after a review of an incident that occurred near the 19:29 mark of the third period and resulted in Wittchow receiving a major penalty for contact to the head and a game disqualification. As a disqualification penalty is accompanied by an automatic one-game suspension, Wittchow is ineligible to play in Wisconsin&#8217;s next two games scheduled for Jan. 23 and 24 against Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Minnesota sophomore forward Vinni Lettieri has been suspended for one game for leaving the bench during the same altercation at the 19:29 mark of the third period.
