{"id":65427,"date":"2015-08-10T11:32:31","date_gmt":"2015-08-10T16:32:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/?p=65427"},"modified":"2015-08-10T17:19:30","modified_gmt":"2015-08-10T22:19:30","slug":"former-curry-assistant-stephen-wiedler-hired-as-new-assistant-at-american-international","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uscho.com\/2015\/08\/10\/former-curry-assistant-stephen-wiedler-hired-as-new-assistant-at-american-international\/","title":{"rendered":"American International names former Curry assistant Wiedler to same job with Yellowjackets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>American International has announced the hiring of Stephen Wiedler as the team&#8217;s new assistant coach.<\/p>\n<p>Wiedler joins AIC after spending the past two seasons as the lead assistant at Curry.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are especially pleased that Steve will be joining our staff,&#8221; AIC head coach Gary Wright said in a statement. &#8220;He has two years of college coaching and recruiting experience and most importantly, he wants a career in coaching.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am extremely excited to become a part of the AIC family,&#8221; added Wiedler. &#8220;Coach Wright&#8217;s ability to put together quality teams that play the game the right way with heart, class and respect made me jump at the opportunity to work alongside him.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>During his time with the Colonels, Wiedler was responsible for recruiting, coaching the defense, on-ice skills development, off-ice strength and conditioning and video analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Wiedler was a defenseman at Southern Maine and served as team captain during his senior season of 2010-11 before embarking on a two-year professional career with the Knoxville Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>American International has announced the hiring of Stephen Wiedler as the team&#8217;s new assistant coach.
