He captained Ferris State to a WCHA championship and NCAA Tournament appearance this season.<\/p>\n<p>Selected by the Islanders in the sixth round (155th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Schempp has been named to the WCHA All-Academic Team the past two seasons and was a member of the 2013-14 WCHA All-Rookie Team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The New York Islanders announced Tuesday that Ferris State junior forward Kyle Schempp has agreed to a two-year, entry-level contract.
