In 2015, he helped the Vees win a BCHL championship and the Western Canada Cup tournament. During the BCHL playoffs, he led Penticton in points (21) and assists (13) and ranked third in goals (8).<\/p>\n<p>Heikkila, a Marquette, Mich., native, spent the past three seasons with the NAHL&#8217;s Minnesota Wilderness, posting 56 points (30 goals, 26 assists) in 147 regular-season games and in 2015, helped the Wilderness win its first Robertson Cup. In Minnesota&#8217;s title-clinching 4-0 victory over Austin, he netted a pair of goals.<\/p>\n<p>Hannoun and Heikkila are the seventh and eighth members of NMU&#8217;s class of 2020.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Northern Michigan announced Monday afternoon that forwards Demico Hannoun and Brett Heikkila will join the Wildcats for the second half of the 2016-17 season.
