A pair of national championship-winning players at North Dakota passed away last week.<\/p>\n
Adam Calder, 42, died on Friday after a lengthy battle with cancer, the school announced. Peter Stasiuk, 79, died on Thursday at his home in Duluth, Minn.<\/p>\n
As a sophomore, Calder scored an empty-net goal that sealed North Dakota’s 6-4 victory over Boston University in the 1997 NCAA championship game in Milwaukee.<\/p>\n
Calder captained North Dakota in 1998-99, his senior season. He had 38 goals and 107 points in 141 collegiate games before launching a 14-year professional career.<\/p>\n
Stasiuk played at North Dakota from 1960 to 1963, winning the NCAA title as a senior.<\/p>\n
He scored 10 goals and 23 points in 79 collegiate games.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
