Kristin O’Neill leads Cornell against Clarkson and St. Lawrence (Cornell Athletics)

Both Nicole and I did well in the holiday picks, but I did gain another game on her, as I went 15-3-2 (.800), while Nicole was 14-4-2 (.750). On the year, I am 126-42-24 (.718) while Nicole is 119-49-24 (.682). Nicole has a lot of chances to catch me this week!

Friday, Nov. 30

Rensselaer at Harvard

Candace: The Crimson should feel confident after giving Wisconsin all it could handle. As long as they avoid a letdown, they win. Harvard 2-1

Nicole: I expect Harvard to take this one. Harvard 3-1

No. 3 Clarkson at Colgate

Candace: This was a national championship game last year that went to OT. The Raiders are not as strong, however. Clarkson 4-2

Nicole: Clarkson wins. Clarkson 4-2

No. 9 St. Lawrence at No. 7 Cornell

Candace: This is one of those tough ones to pick. I’ll go against the grain. St. Lawrence 3-2

Nicole: I think Cornell handles this test at home and wins. Cornell 2-0

Union at Dartmouth

Candace: Can home ice make a difference? Dartmouth 2-1

Nicole: I’ll take Union to win. Union 3-2

Quinnipiac at No. 10 Princeton

Candace: Princeton is looking awfully good. Princeton 4-1

Nicole: The Tigers win at home. Princeton 3-1

Friday-Saturday, Nov. 30-Dec. 1

Lindenwood at RIT

Candace: There’s no percentage in picking a split between evenly matched teams. Lindenwood 2-1, 2-1

Nicole: These two should split this series. RIT 2-1, Lindenwood 3-1

Penn State at Robert Morris

Candace: See above regarding evenly matched teams. Robert Morris 2-1, 3-1

Nicole: I think I’ll take a split here, as well. Penn State 2-0, Robert Morris 2-1

Maine at Vermont

Candace: I like the Black Bears to regain their traction. Maine 4-2, 4-2

Nicole: I’ll take Maine to sweep this one. Maine 4-2, 3-2

No. 8 Providence versus Connecticut (home-and-home)

Candace: Providence is one of the surprises of the first half. Providence 3-1, 3-1

Nicole: I expect Providence to take both games of this home and home. Providence 3-0, 4-1

Boston University versus No. 4 Boston College (home-and-home)

Candace: The Terriers gave BC all they could handle a few weeks ago. Boston College 3-2, 3-2

Nicole: This should be two wins for BC. Boston College 4-2, 4-1

Merrimack versus New Hampshire

Candace: If New Hampshire wins, it’s Friday at home, but unlikely. Merrimack 3-2, 3-1

Nicole: I expect that Merrimack can sweep this weekend. Merrimack 3-1, 3-2

No. 5 Northeastern versus Holy Cross (home-and-home)

Candace: Poor Holy Cross. It’s been a rough couple months, and playing red-hot Northeastern won’t help. Northeastern 5-0, 5-0

Nicole: Northeastern sweeps. Northeastern 5-0, 6-0

St. Cloud State at Bemidji State

Candace: I think the Huskies might just sweep. St. Cloud 3-2, 3-2

Nicole: I think these two will split. St. Cloud 3-1, Bemidji State 4-2

No. 2 Minnesota at Yale

Candace: Minnesota should win this series big. Minnesota 5-1, 5-1

Nicole: Gophers sweep. Minnesota 4-1, 3-0

Saturday, Dec. 1

No. 9 St. Lawrence at Colgate

Candace: Colgate’s been a win one, lose one team, and if I’m right about Friday … Colgate 3-2

Nicole: I’ll take the Raiders at home here to win a close one. Colgate 4-3

No. 3 Clarkson at No. 7 Cornell

Candace: I think the Golden Knights’ top line is too strong for the Big Red. Clarkson 4-2

Nicole: I’m going to pick an upset and take the Big Red at home to win. Cornell 3-2

Rensselaer at Dartmouth

Candace: Two of the worst offenses in the game right now. Rensselaer 2-1

Nicole: RPI wins. Rensselaer 3-1

Union at Harvard

Candace: Harvard should pick up two straight wins. Harvard 3-1

Nicole: Harvard wins. Harvard 3-2

No. 10 Princeton at Quinnipiac

Candace: Princeton again will position themselves for home ice. Princeton 3-2

Nicole: Princeton takes this one. Princeton 4-2

Saturday-Sunday, Dec. 1-2

No. 6 Ohio State at Minnesota State

Candace: The Mavericks won’t make it easy, but I think the Buckeyes are too strong. Ohio State 3-2, 3-2

Nicole: It’s a weekend sweep for the Buckeyes, who have something to prove here. Ohio State 4-1, 3-1

Syracuse at No. 1 Wisconsin

Candace: The Badgers will take the lessons of last weekend’s tough wins. Wisconsin 3-1, 3-1

Nicole: Badgers handle this one at home and win. Wisconsin 3-0, 4-1

Tuesday, Dec. 4

No. 8 Providence at Brown

Candace: Brown has fallen back to Earth. Providence 3-1

Nicole: This should be a Providence win. Providence 4-0

New Hampshire at Dartmouth

Candace: I’m really unsure on this one. New Hampshire 2-1

Nicole: I’ll take Dartmouth at home here. Dartmouth 2-1
