They scored five unanswered goals on Friday for a 5-1 win and carried the momentum into Saturday, scoring less than a minute into the game en route to another 5-1 win.No. 2 Clarkson vs. No. 6 St. Lawrence (home-and-home)<\/strong>Elizabeth Giguere scored twice for Clarkson to lead them to a 4-2 win on Friday at St. Lawrence. Kennedy Marchment tallied two assists for the Saints. Marchment put St. Lawrence on the board first on Saturday, but from there it was all the Golden Knights as they raised the banner for their national championship last season. Giguere added a goal and four assists while Michaela Pejzlova scored twice and added an assist.No. 3 Boston College at Connecticut<\/strong>The teams traded goals and then held out through the final frame and overtime to earn a 2-2 tie. Boston College hit the post twice in the extra period, but Connecticut goalie Annie Belanger was stellar, amassing 45 saves, including 26 in the third period and overtime.No. 4 Ohio State at St. Cloud State<\/strong>The Buckeyes earned two clean sheets with a pair of 4-0 wins over St. Cloud State. Emma Maltais, Maddy Field, and Julia Iafallo each scored two times on the weekend. Maltais is tied for the most points by a freshman with 10. Ohio State’s 7-0-1 start is the best in program history.Mercyhurst vs. No. 5 Colgate<\/strong>On Friday, the teams scored four second-period goals and headed to overtime tied at three before Jessie Eldridge scored a highlight-reel goal to give Colgate the win. On Saturday, Vilma Tanskanen’s second goal of the weekend helped Mercyhurst take a 1-1 tie into the final period, but Colgate’s three unanswered goals, including two from Malia Schneider, gave them a 4-1 win and the weekend sweep.No. 7 Minnesota at No. 8 Minnesota-Duluth<\/strong>Minnesota got things back on track with a pair of wins over rival UMD. On Friday, Caitlin Reilly scored twice and tallied an assist to lead the Gophers to a 4-2 win. In game two, Ashton Bell gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead that they took into the third period before Sophie Skarzynski and Reilly earned the Gophers a come-from-behind 2-1 win.No. 9 Northeastern at Syracuse<\/strong>Victoria Klimek scored in each game for Syracuse, but the Orange were overmatched by the Huskies, losing 5-1 in each game. Veronika Pettey tallied two goals and an assist on Friday. Deniza Krížová had a goal and an assist for Northeastern on Saturday.Penn State at Merrimack<\/strong>Jessica Bonfre’s unassisted goal had Merrimack ahead into the third period before Natalie Heising’s power-play goal tied it up and forced overtime. Paige Sorensen potted a power-play goal in the extra frame to give Merrimack the overtime 2-1 win. On Saturday, Heising and Bonfre again scored their team’s first goals. Merrimack had a 3-2 lead heading into the third period, but Bella Sutton scored to force overtime and Katie Rankin netted the overtime winner to give Penn State the victory and a split on the weekend.No. 3 Boston College at Vermont<\/strong>The teams were tied at one after the first two periods, but Boston College pulled away thanks to three third-period tallies to earn a 4-2 win.
