Speaking of firsts, Connecticut College shocked Salem Sate with a 4-2 win to claim its first victory of the campaign as well.

Overall, it wasn’t that bad of a week for me, as I went .500 with the Salem Sate loss, but I am looking to rebound nicely this week.

A lot of MASCAC games on Saturday, so let’s not waste any time!

Saturday, December 1

Fitchburgh State Falcons (2-3-1) at Mass.-Dartmouth Corsairs (2-1-2)

This is a big conference game for both programs. Both are atop the MASCAC standings; however, the Corsairs have a bit better of an overall record. The Falcons have no problem finding the back of the net, as their 16 goals are the most in the MASCAC. There is just something about the Corsairs that makes them a contender every year. This is a close one, but until Mass.-Dartmouth proves me wrong, I’ll take the Corsairs. Mass.-Dartmouth 4-2

Worcester State Lancers (2-6-0) at Plymouth State Panthers (3-1-0)

If you have not heard yet, the Lancers finally won their first two games of the season last week. Plymouth State, on the other hand, has rebounded nicely since that overtime loss to Westfield State. Even though the Lancers are feeding off the momentum, this is too tough of a road game for them right now. All Panthers. Plymouth State 5-1

Westfield Sate Owls (6-1-0) at Salem State Vikings (2-2-1)

Game of the weekend right here. The surprising Owls from Westfield State head to Salem to take on the Vikings. Last season, the no-brainer pick would have been Salem State; however, not this year. This is going to be closer of a game then people think, and even tougher to pick. Even though the Owls are the MASCAC’s hottest team right now, Salem State is a bit deeper in net and on defense. Vikings squeak this out. Salem State, 3-2

Record to Date: 7-6-2 (16 pts.)
