Last Week: 7-3-2

On the Season: 27-20-4 (.569)

It’s a bizarre weekend with plenty of action, but all single games. No two game series.

Friday, November 19

AIC at Army – AIC stays in conference (no non-league games yet) while Army starts a homestand that will see them at Tate rink for eight of their next nine contests. Army 3, AIC 2.

Connecticut at Bentley – UConn leads the all-time series 21-13-3 but Bentley took three of five last season. Bentley 4, Connecticut 3.

Air Force at Canisius – The Falcons are playing better than the Griffs right now. Air Force 3, Canisius 2.

RIT at Niagara – The Purple Eagles haven’t lost to RIT since the Tigers went Division I (6-0-2) and I don’t expect that to change Friday. Niagara 4, RIT 2.

Mercyhurst at Robert Morris – Two teams expected to finish near the top of the standings square off for the first time in six years. I like the Colonials at home. Robert Morris 4, Mercyhurst 3.

Holy Cross at Sacred Heart – Holy Cross is the better of the two teams right now, but I’m picking Sacred Heart to rebound on home ice. Sacred Heart 3, Holy Cross 2.

Saturday, November 20

Sacred Heart at Army – I’m going with the Black Knights at home. Army 4, Sacred Heart 3.

Robert Morris at Canisius – Canisius has already played five overtime games this season; Robert Morris three. I have a feeling this one might need extra time to be settled. Robert Morris 3, Canisius 2.

Bentley at Holy Cross – The Crusaders should get it done on home ice. Holy Cross 4, Bentley 2.

Air Force at Niagara – This is my pick for game of the week. Two teams playing good hockey right now. I give the edge to Niagara at home. Niagara 4, Air Force 3.

AIC at Connecticut – This is the 87th meeting between the two teams, with UConn holding a 42-36-8 record, including wins in the last six games between the two schools. I think that streak continues. UConn 4, AIC 1.

This week’s guest analyst is Matthew O’Donnell from Canisius. Here’s his take:

November 19

Holy Cross at Sacred Heart

Sacred Heart is really struggling this year, and Holy Cross is doing really well. Sacred Heart can be a tough place to play, especially if they score first or stay in a close game. Too bad it’s not going to be close. Holy Cross wins 5-2.

Air Force at Canisius

My Griffs are really struggling after a good start, and they never do really well against Air Force. Air Force wins 4-2.

RIT at Niagara

Both Niagara and RIT off to great starts in conference. RIT had struggled on the road, so I’m going with Niagara in this one, 3-2.

UConn at Bentley AIC at Army

Army is winless at home. That changes against AIC. 2-1 Army.

Mercyhurst at Robert Morris

Robert Morris is off to a ridiculous start in their first year in Atlantic Hockey. RM wins 5-2.

November 20

Bentley at Holy Cross

Holy Cross and their great start at home against a struggling offense in Bentley. Holy Cross wins 5-2.

Sacred Heart at Army

Sacred Heart is winless on the road. They’ll win, just not today. Army wins 5-1

Robert Morris at Canisius

Upset of the week, Canisius gets their game back on track with a huge win over Robert Morris 3-2.

Air Force at Niagara

Air Force sweeps the Western New York trip, winning 2-0

AIC at UConn

AIC giving up goals like they’re going out of style, UConn wins 5-2.

This Week’s Picks:
