Last time: 6-4-1

Overall: 11-7-3

It’s the first full weekend of conference play. Union is atop of the conference with four points with their weekend sweep of Rensselaer last weekend while Harvard, Brown and Yale all each have one conference victory and sit two points back.

All games are 7 p.m. puck drops.

Friday, Nov. 3

RPI at Clarkson

It was a tough weekend for both the Engineers and the Golden Knights as they both suffered weekend sweeps. As mentioned above, RPI fell to Union while Clarkson fell to the University of Minnesota. The Golden Knights have been solid at home so far this season and I expect to to continue. Golden Knights win 4-2.

Brown at Dartmouth

Most people expect Brown to be better this season and they showed that potential Friday night with a 4-1 victory over Yale. They came back on Saturday and dropped a 5-2 decision to the Bulldogs. Dartmouth meanwhile had a tough task of opening against Harvard and the Big Green dropped a 5-0 decision. Dartmouth played well at Thompson Arena early last season, I say that continues on Friday. Dartmouth wins 3-2.

Yale at Harvard

Harvard looked good on Sunday while Yale earned that split against Brown. Rivalry games usually tend to be close games This will be the fourth meeting in the calendar year as the two teams played in January and and met in the quarterfinals of the ECAC Tournament. Harvard wins 4-3

Colgate at Princeton

This should be an intriguing game. Colton Point has been solid in goal for the Raiders while Princeton has ton of offense returning from this past season. It is another rematch from the conference tournament as the two teams faced each other in the first round. The Tigers win 3-1.

Cornell at Quinnipiac

The lone top 20 match-up of the weekend in the conference as the Big Red takes on the Bobcats. Cornell opened up the season with a sweep of Alabama-Huntsville while Quinnipiac had the weekend off. I think it may take a period for Quinnpiac to find their legs, but they have been battled tested so far this season. Bobcats win 3-2.

Union at St. Lawrence

The Saints come back from Madison with a split with Wisconsin. Both teams are riding the ship from slow starts. The Dutchmen have won their past four games after starting the season 0-5. St. Lawrence has dropped their first seven. I think Union gets back to .500 as the Dutchmen win 6-3.

Saturday, Nov. 4

Union at Clarkson

I don’t expect too much scoring in this contest with Jake Kielly manning Clarkson’s net and Union seeming to find their goalie of the future now in freshman Darion Hanson who is 4-0 this season. Clarkson continues their strong play at home, Golden Knights come away with a 2-1 victory.

Yale at Dartmouth

Both teams will be trying into a rhythm this season. With most people believe their will be a log jam in the middle of the pack of the conference this season, these will be two very important points up for grabs. Yale comes away with a 5-4 victory.

Brown at Harvard

This will be the Crimson’s final home game of the calendar year. This could be a trap game for them as they have an important contest the following weekend against Cornell. Brown doesn’t want to go winless on the weekend so I think they will keep it close for a bit. At the end day the Crimson win 5-2.

Cornell at Princeton

This will be an important test for the Tigers if they want to make that step as a contender in the conference. A way to do that is a victory over a traditional power in the conference. The Big Red will want to get a conference victory before their contest against Harvard. Cornell doubles up Princeton 6-3.

Colgate at Quinnipiac

After opening the season with five of their first six games against ranked opponents, Quinnipiac will face their first unranked team since facing Vermont on Oct. 14. This could be a trap game for them, but a game they be favored in. Colton Point has the ability to steal a game like this for Colgate. I believe the Bobcats win 5-2.

RPI at St. Lawrence

This is a winnable game for both teams and both teams will need the two points. The Engineers especially as they don’t want to open their first four conference games winless. With the monkey off their back, the Saints look to get their first victory at Appleton Arena this weekend. I expect they will get it Saturday. Saints win 4-1.
